Open house is back! With a fantastic mix of workshops, one-to-ones and panel discussions. This week-long series is your opportunity to continue to develop your skills, expand your network and progress your career.
All events are free for current Spotlight members.
Monday 1 April 10.30 - 17.30 (20 minute individual sessions)
Auditioning for Screen
Booking a 20 minute session will give you an exciting opportunity to step into the professional world of casting and experience the casting process from beginning to end. You will have the opportunity to work professionally in a studio to shoot and record your chosen scene, it must be a ‘duologue’ written for TV or Film.

Movement and Practice Workshop
There is often a battle between head and body. This work encourages participants to find language in as specific a way as possible, to translate imagination into the body, pay attention to one’s derivations and adaptations.

There are multiple ways to describe one’s experience, to define activity, recharacterize and bring meaning. This work encourages participants to find language in as specific a way as possible, to translate imagination into the body, pay attention to one’s derivations and adaptations.

Improvisation workshop
To survive the pressures of working in the increasingly competitive, fast-paced and constantly changing media arts industries, actors must continue to develop their skills and flexibility. In this workshop, participants will delve into exercises and learning games that help further develop their confidence, spontaneity, mental/emotional flexibility and collaborative abilities.

Camera Clinic
Join Conor & Alison in our Spotlight Studio where we are offering our Irish Spotlight members a unique opportunity to perform a Duologue Scene written for Film & TV in our state of the art casting studio: we will review, critique and direct your scene to camera, with lots of tips and professional guidance, this is a opportunity to any performer eager to explore camera techniques, self taping or simply overcoming any audition or studio nerves!

Voice and Breath Workshop
Accents are challenging for actors. We will consider both contemporary and classic texts to explore the actor's approach to voice, rhythm, imagery and sound. Shifting between works, your voice and acting skills will be stimulated and extended.

Yoga for Actors
This workshop is a mixture of Vinyasa & Yin Yoga, offering waves of activity and stillness in the body. The theme offers self-exploration of mind and body through movement and meditation.
Beginning with mantra chanting, moving through our heated and cooling yoga practice filled with dynamic moves and creative play, and finishing with a guided Nidra (Yogic Sleep) meditation.

Auditioning for Screen Workshop Feedback with John and Ros Hubbard
Return to Bow Street's cinema where John and Ros Hubbard will give feedback to each of the participants on Monday's workshop. Receive helpful tips, advice and direction from Ireland's top casting directors.

These are for Irish Spotlight members only. Book a session with Casting Director Carl Proctor and ask your questions in person at the Central Hotel, over the phone or by skype and get tips for how to grow your career internationally. 1-2-1 Career Advice Sessions - Open to Non Members
Invite a friend! Open to those who aren't Spotlight members, actors can book a career advice session with Casting Director Carl Proctor. Ask Carl your questions in person at the Central Hotel, over the phone or by Skype and get tips on how to progress your acting career and the benefits of being a Spotlight member.
