This is an exciting opportunity to step into the professional world of casting and experience the casting process from beginning to end. You will have the opportunity to work professionally in a studio to shoot and record your chosen scene, it must be a ‘duologue’ written for TV or Film.
While these sessions are taking place, our team will be on hand in our offices for advice and to answer any questions about your Spotlight profile.
Return at the end of the week to review your work on the big screen with Maureen Hughes Casting.

This yoga session will incorporate pranayama (breathing) techniques, slow movement and a Yoga Nidra meditation to free us from habitual tensions that can distract us from our responses to the present moment.
The Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) meditation is a deeply healing practice for body and mind that is specifically focused on helping actors find emotional connection through release rather than effort or force.
.
Designed for creative minds to find space and growth we will create waves of movements to unravel tensions and reconnect with the body. Both heating and cooling in our actions we will explore where our true nature lies and find release.
Expect some noise, expect to create some sounds and there will be the exquisite silence of an extended savasana to complete the practice.

Join us in the Spotlight professional casting studio for tips and techniques to capture your best self-tape, ask everything you ever wanted to for perfecting your audition and self-tape technique, with a professional reader for your duologue scene tape!

Movement Metaphor is the engine inside each sentence, the verb. Join us to explore in infinite ways, once you have the vocabulary: this workshop draws on choreographer Mary Overlie’s Viewpoints, you will work with a choral text to illuminate a new way for actors to discover and explore a range of physicality and physical intention.
.
Accents are challenging for actors. This workshop explores the key tools necessary for you to master the classic accents - English RP and Standard American. You will work on your organs of articulation and breath control to achieve a successful characterisation, improve performance and build confidence in your accent abilities.
