Spotlight Liverpool Open House: June 2017
On Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th June, we'll be hosting workshops, Q&As and one-to-ones led by top industry professionals working across all areas of film, television and theatre. The events will be held at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, in association with Pearson Casting. This venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users.

A little note
Due to capacity, places for these sessions will be limited. We'd love for as many as possible of our Liverpool based members to come along, so please only pick three sessions to attend.

As a performer there are always many opportunities to hear from casting directors and agents, but it's rather rare to hear from professionals in other areas of the industry. Spotlight will host a discussion with producers Josephine Sherlock and Sam Buist where you'll be able to ask them about their way of working and much more.
Rachael Naylor, founder and owner of the The VoiceOver Network, will give you all the info you need on how to be a successful voiceover artist/ voice actor.
Rachael promises to get you inspired, and you'll leave the session with great information to take away and use to get work!

Spotlight will host a discussion casting director Emma Stafford. You'll also have the chance to ask Emma any questions you might have about casting!
Emma’s diverse resume of TV, Film and commercial work reflects her unique touch. From household names and up and coming actors to street cast, she always goes the extra mile to find the perfect person for every role.
Join Spotlight for this active workshop with actor and director John Garfield-Roberts. You'll learn key techniques for comedy acting, and have the chance to ask John everything you've always wanted to know about the art of being hilarious!
The opening session of Spotlight Open House Liverpool is your opportunity to find out how to develop your career. Spotlight's experts will run through some example CVs with you and answer questions on how you can improve your career. Bring your enthusiasm and questions!
Spotlight will host a panel discussion with local agents, who'll talk about how to be a successful actor based in the north of England. You'll also have the chance to ask them any questions you might have about casting, headshots and your career!
Get one-on-one career advice from Spotlight's Justin McDonald. Ask Justin your questions in person and get tips for how to grow your career.
Anything is up for discussion, including photos, CVs, showreels, casting directors and agents (however, it is not possible for Justin to recommend agents).
Sign up for a twenty minute one-on-one session with Spotlight's Emma Dyson. Emma will review your Spotlight Profile and give you tips to help improve your career.
General American and RP are accent essentials for any actor! Whether you’re starting from scratch on these accents or refining your skills, you can book a one-to-one session with accent coach Nic Redman.
Exciting as they are, auditions can also be be nerve-wracking and intimidating, especially if you’re a young performer starting out in the acting world. This event aims to provide young actors with practical tips on how to develop an organic, relaxed performance in a pressurised casting environment.
The workshop is designed to be an active, fun way of enhancing audition skills and increasing confidence for future castings.
Please note this session is open to young performers aged 16-25 only.
