It's that time of year again, Spotlight Open House is back from 7 - 11 November 2016. This week long series of workshops, one-on-ones and Q&As is your opportunity to continue to develop your skills, expand your network and progress your career. 

As a member of Spotlight, you can come along to free events at our London HQ, our hub in Dublin at 12 Bow Street or livestreamed online, so wherever you're based you can join us for #SpotlightOpenHouse

Award-winning director, Shimmy Marcus, will lead you through this practical session to improve your performance for the screen. Shimmy Marcus is a multi award winning filmmaker working in a variety of formats including Features, Shorts, TV, Documentary, Music Promos, and Commercials. He has been giving filmmaking and acting workshops for over 15 years and is now Artistic Director at Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting.

How to work in LA with Jimmy Akingbola

Actor and co-founder of TriForce Creative Network, Jimmy Akingbola (Arrow, Holby City, Rev, Death in Paradise) has established a solid and highly respected place in the industry in a multitude of ways. He comes to Spotlight armed with essential advice on working in L.A., including how to get secure an agent, the art of networking, and the differences between the Europe and L.A. that you need to be aware of in order to be successful.

Perfecting Your Audition Technique

SOLD OUT. No one wants to turn up to an audition feeling unprepared, therefore, we’ve enlisted the help of established casting director Rick Laxton to demystify the audition process and help you nail the perfect audition technique for your next role. This will be an active workshop where you’ll get the opportunity to audition in front of Rick and the group and have your performance critiqued. Come prepared with a screen audition piece in mind.
