Spotlight Scotland Open House: 20th June 2018
Open House is coming to Glasgow! With a fantastic mix of workshops, one-to-one and career advice sessions. This year we are hosting a series at the Tron Theatre and this is your opportunity to continue to develop your skills, expand your network and progress your career.
All events are free for current Spotlight members.
The opening session of Spotlight Open House Scotland is your opportunity to find out how to develop your career. Whether you're looking to be cast in local productions or looking for opportunities in London, Europe or in America, brand new to the industry or looking to take the next step in your acting career, our panel will be able to advise you. Spotlight's industry expert Emma Dyson will talk you through how best to use your Spotlight profile, and how you can make sure you're winning as much work as possible. Bring your enthusiasm and questions!

Telling other people's stories: This workshop will explore what it means to inhabit someone else's world and to tell their story. Through a series of playful exercises, we'll explore how to get into a role and bring your own truth to a character. We'll play games, share stories and discuss ideas as we navigate the complications and possibilities that arise when you're pretending to be someone else. A chance to ask, why do we tell stories? And what is an actor's role is within that?
Join Tron Creative Learning Facilitator Catherine Ward Stoddart for a youth theatre taster session. Using text from our latest show Control+Alt+Delete participants will explore devising and theatre-making skills creating their own performances to share with the group.
Auditioning is a tricky business for any actor, especially when it comes to Shakespeare! Get practical advice and tips for tackling Shakespeare in an audition setting. Working with Director Peter Collins, you will have the chance to workshop monologues and receive feedback on your performance within a group.
