Exciting New Changes from Spotlight
Contacts is now available for free online
The iconic Contacts, which has everything that you need to know for a career in the entertainment industry, is now available online.
You'll find all of the listings that you'd expect to find in the book, but it's much more intuitive and easy-to-use. For example, if you're looking to get new headshots, you simply type in 'Headshots' or 'Photographer' and the search results will show all of the photographers and how close they are to you.
New look Spotlight.com
The Spotlight website has been redesigned to be much easier to use and help anyone looking to use Spotlight to assist their career in the industry to easily find the information that they need. The new design has been created after feedback from performers, agents and casting professionals suggested the website needed improvement.
If you're reading this article, you're already using the new look site! But once you sign in, you'll notice that the new look isn't used there. We are working on updating the signed in areas of the site with the new look and feel, and making it more intuitive for casting professionals, agents and performers to use. But, as you can imagine, this will take a little time to get right and we'll share more information on this as soon as we can.
New and improved casting space
The brand new casting rooms at Spotlight HQ opened last week after they were redesigned using suggestions that have come from casting professionals and performers who come into audition in the rooms.
While we still have two small, two medium and two large rooms, everything else about the second floor at Spotlight is almost unrecognisable. If you need a flexible space or a room that’s big enough for over 50 people, the rooms now have retractable walls to allow you to open up the space when you need to, and the equipment in the rooms is now state-of-the-art.
There’s also a performance space to use for presentations or - more excitingly - scratch nights or work-in-progress sessions to help performers on Spotlight to develop and show the work they’re creating.
